What Does a Ghostwriter Do?

Grammarly Writing Support

Self publishing and writing a non-fiction book means you’re an expert in your industry and that you have an important message to share. That is where working with a ghostwriter can be the key to your success as having a message doesn’t mean you are actually good with words.

Some authors think it’s cheating to work with a ghostwriter. Instead they choose to struggle writing their own business book, or worse, they give up and don’t write a book at all. To help explain this concept, Book Launchers founder Julie Broad has created a series of videos on Ghostwriters. In this video she discusses what exactly a ghostwriter will do for you.

A ghostwriter is someone who can write your book in your words they research and they interview you they review content you put out and they work really hard to capture your voice to create a great first draft of a book most of the time a complete ghost writing gig for a book includes the following:

Flushing the concept out which means identifying the ideal reader and the hook of the book drafting the outline of a book with the author, interviewing the author extensively to capture their
voice and expertise researching the subject matter to supplement the content as needed writing the first draft and working with the feedback and revising the draft.

Once it’s a solid draft it’s off to the editors and over to you to review and revise if you’re self-publishing this means you now need to find a couple of great editors to take your draft to polish publishing ready material then you need someone to design the interior and the cover then get it set up for distribution and marketing sound like a lot of work call us we can help.
