Today, I’ll be taking a look at the Roma mattress from Sleep EZ, one of several latex beds from the family-owned brand. What sets apart the Roma from the rest of the EZ line is that it’s flippable, featuring both a “Medium” and “Firm” side that you can change whenever the mood strikes you.
But the question remains: is this dual-sided latex bed actually comfortable? To find out, I’ll be putting it to the test, assessing everything from its feel to its sinkage to determine whether or not it could be the perfect mattress for you.
The Roma mattress is outfitted with a straightforward construction of just two layers of 100% natural Dunlop latex. When compared to other types of latex, Dunlop is a bit denser, making for a firm, supportive material.
As I mentioned up top, the Roma is flippable and can be oriented in either a “Medium” or “Firm” feel. For the purpose of my assessment, I kept the mattress in “Medium.”
To see how all this comes together, let’s dive into the bed!
Cover – Crafted with organic cotton, the cover is super soft and breathable. It also features channeled quilting, which is meant to provide the sleeper with some additional comfort and make it easier for sheets to stay attached to the bed.
Latex Layer – Latex is known for a few different things. Firstly, it’s an extremely bouncy material that’ll allow for some sinkage, yes, but will also keep you lifted on top of the structure to prevent any sort of stuck-in-the-bed feeling. It’s also imbued with fantastic cooling properties, which means you’re not likely to overheat in the night. And lastly, it’s all-natural, so could be a great fit for sleepers trying to bring a little green into their bedrooms.
