Does Apple Cider Vinegar Shrink Varicose Veins and Spider Veins?

What causes varicose veins?

The veins carry blood back to the heart from other parts of the body. They use a series of one-way valves to prevent backflow of blood. If these valves become damaged or weak they cause a backflow leading to a backup of blood. This backup of blood causes swollen veins which may lead to varicose veins or spider veins.

Some factors that might contribute to varicose veins:

Sun overexposure, injuries, hormonal changes, age, work environment where there is standing for long period of time, obesity, heredity, constipation and birth control pills.

The Research

A study published in the Journal of Evidence-based Complementary and Alternative Medicine determine that external application of apple cider vinegar on varicosity patient, increased the positive effects of conservative treatments.

How does apple cider vinegar work for varicose veins:

Apple cider vinegar stimulates circulation, improves blood flow and aids in detoxification by breaking up mucus all over the body. When there is natural blood flow the swelling of varicose veins will reduce.
