“Teaching is the most human profession there is.” – George Couros. Social emotional learning is at the heart of great teaching. When we equip students with the tools to understand and manage their emotions and maintain healthy relationships, they will be successful both in and out of school. On a daily basis, our students are faced with stimuli from an increasingly noisy digital world – especially in today’s confusing and uncertain climate. This session will explore strategies and resources that can be used to build a foundation to make social emotional learning actionable, accessible, and impactful during distance learning. Participants will learn about high and low tech tools that will foster positive relationships and increased engagement and connectivity to create an empathy-centered classroom.
