Hands down the Black Diamond Ion is the best LED headlamp for hiking and camping at such a low price, but definitely watch this before buying as I’ll give you a top tip on how to choose the right headlamp for your next trip!
I bought this headlamp for my South Downs Way 100-mile hike last summer for, since then I’ve used it for all my hiking, camping and travelling trips as well as my Everest Base Camp trek.
It’s such a lightweight head torch and in my opinion, is the best for 3-season long distance thru hiking because it’s small, easy to use, comfortable, light, durable and the battery can last for hundreds of hours on the lower setting.
The headlamp has a dimmer function, red light, interface lock, flashing settings and a push button buckle on the strap for easy fitting.
The battery replacement is dead simple and in this video, I’ll show you how the instructions on to open, change the batteries and how to use all of the settings.
